I was just thinking about framing again as I looked at the cover of Badlands, (see below).I wonder if that arresting image would have had the same impact if one had been there. Because of the tree's exposed roots and low branches, the effect of the photograph is of an explosion. Full of energy.
Without the frame, would that energy have been so noticeable? Does the limitations of the media have an effect on the subject?
